Washington, DC - Newly elected Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy had a busy Monday morning as he was fielding calls from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other world leaders on the House floor.
“Yes, I’m very happy to have been elected, and yes of course you’re welcome for the large donation Mr. Zelensky,” the Speaker could be overheard saying. “Yes, I think the F-35 would make a fine addition to your arsenal, the fleet should be arriving by Thursday along with another $3.5 billion sir,” continued McCarthy.
In an interview outside of the House floor, the Speaker could barely contain his excitement at the prospect of giving away another $10 billion or so in Ukrainian aid, “Finally, I’m the guy that gets to sign the big checks,” said McCarthy in elation.
