Kyiv, Ukraine - The local press was buzzing after news broke that President Joe Biden was paying a surprise visit to the war-torn country on Monday. The meeting between Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky comes just a few days before the one year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
During the meeting, President Biden promised to send even more javelins and Howitzers to Ukraine, as well as placing a new round of sanctions on Russia. All of this was readily received by the Ukrainian President, and the meeting was going great… until Biden’s handlers got distracted and the meeting devolved into chaos.
The President reportedly referred to Ukraine as a part of the USSR’s Soviet bloc, and asked Zelensky when he thought the wall in East Berlin was going to fall. A confused Zelensky had to remind Biden multiple times that those events happened “like 40 years ago, man”, to which Biden reportedly said, “Gorbochev doesn’t know what’s coming, President Reagan is going to wipe the floor with him.”
The President was rushed out of the meeting after his handlers realized that he was “stuck in the 1980’s again.” When asked how often this phenomena happens with the President, his handlers said that it occurs “once or twice a week,” and that one time the President thought it was the 1950’s and Biden said they could all come over to his house and watch I Love Lucy on his black and white TV.
