Washington, DC - During the preliminary hearing discussing the crypto currency scandal that happened at FTX, Maxine Waters (D-CA) was observed asking the witness, FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), whether he was, “comfortable,” and how he was doing overall.
“I just want to make sure that my good friend, SBF, who defrauded American taxpayers to the tune of millions of dollars, is doing ok during this difficult time”, said Rep. Waters on Friday. Maxine was also seen blowing a kiss to SBF during a previous appearance before the House Financial Services Committee.
It remains to be seen how Rep. Waters will be impartial in her Committee hearings regarding the FTX fallot. SBF was overheard talking about how he’s going to be fine thanks to his “great friend Maxine” overseeing his hearing.
