Washington, DC - On Wednesday, Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Jaime Harrison appeared on CNBC promoting a bold new campaign strategy to “save democracy” and prevent a red wave from sweeping through the country. “I think it’s time to expand voting rights in this country, which is why we’re announcing our new campaign: I think kids should vote.”
The sweeping election reform proposal comes on the heels of new polling that shows Republicans leading in most demographic areas. “When it comes down to it, if you can choose your gender or identify as a trans youth, you should be able to choose to vote,” continued DNC Chairman Harrison. “Obviously, we’re expecting more ballot measures like a later bedtime and unlimited Halloween candy, but if that’s the price we have to pay to preserve democracy, so be it.”
Although it’s unlikely to withstand inquiries from the Supreme Court, the strategy could prove valuable during an election season where Democrats seem more focused on trans rights than crime rates and inflation. The DNC Chairman closed his remarks by saying, “if you love this country, and want to prevent tyranny, then make your voice be heard by telling your elected representative: ‘I think kids should vote!”
