In a shocking turn of events, President Joe Biden, who isn’t even running for re-election, seems to have taken up a new hobby—sabotaging his own Vice President, Kamala Harris, as she struggles to launch her 2024 presidential campaign. Some might say Biden is giving Harris a “tough love” lesson in how to lose gracefully.
Recently, Biden made a surprise speech where he praised Harris as a "great sidekick" but quickly followed up with a classic Biden gaffe. “Kamala’s done amazing work as Vice President—handling... what was it again? Oh yeah, the southern border!” The audience, filled with reporters, immediately took out their pens, eager to write about the crisis at the border, which has been Harris' most notorious assignment, and certainly not a glowing part of her résumé.
In what some are calling a “friendly backstab,” Biden also casually mentioned how he’s “proud of the strong economy” under his leadership, while Harris stumbles to explain inflation numbers and skyrocketing gas prices to the American people. It’s as if Biden is giving Harris a quick lesson on what not to say on the campaign trail.
Political analysts, or maybe just folks with common sense, are wondering if this is Biden's secret way of ensuring Harris doesn’t win the election. After all, when you’re stuck trying to explain why grocery bills look like credit card payments, it’s hard to sell yourself as a strong leader.
Some have speculated Biden might even be rooting for Gavin Newsom to step in and “save” the party. Or maybe he’s just enjoying the chaos from the sidelines—who needs Netflix when you have Kamala’s campaign to watch?
Whatever the case may be, it’s clear Biden has perfected the art of undermining without really trying. Harris might want to double-check her campaign team... and maybe her boss too.
