President Biden was confused about his job again today, asking his advisors if he was the president of the United States or the manager of a Dairy Queen.
"I'm not sure what I'm doing here," Biden said. "Am I supposed to be running the country or making milkshakes?"
Biden's advisors were taken aback by the question, but quickly tried to reassure him.
"You're the president, Mr. President," one advisor said. "But I understand the confusion. The two jobs are actually quite similar."
"Really?" Biden asked. "How so?"
"Well, both jobs require you to deal with a lot of different people," the advisor explained. "And both jobs require you to make a lot of decisions."
"But I don't know anything about running a country," Biden said.
"That's okay," the advisor said. "You don't need to know anything about running a country to be president. Just follow your instincts and you'll be fine."
Biden nodded thoughtfully. "I think I can do that," he said. "Now, where's the milkshake machine?"
Biden's confusion about his job has been a recurring theme throughout his presidency. He has famously asked his advisors if he was supposed to be standing or sitting during a press conference, and he has also forgotten where he was going during official visits.
Some critics have suggested that Biden's confusion is a sign of his age or cognitive decline. Others have defended him, saying that he is simply a man who is trying his best in a difficult job.
Regardless of the reason for his confusion, Biden's gaffes have provided a source of amusement for many people. And in a time when the news is often bleak, a good laugh is sometimes all we need.
