In a surprising yet somehow predictable move, Joe Biden has once again pulled the rug out from under his own Vice President, Kamala Harris—except, this time, it’s even more confusing because he’s not running for re-election.
That's right, while Harris is busy trying to prove she’s the new face of the Democratic Party, Biden is out here playing favorites with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Biden recently revealed that DeSantis has his direct number, leaving us all wondering if Kamala even has it herself. Has Biden forgotten that he's supposed to be helping her campaign, or is he just not that into her?
It seems that while Kamala is desperately working to convince voters she’s ready to lead the free world, Biden is more focused on showing the country that he’s still on good terms with, well, everyone but his successor-to-be. In what can only be described as a masterclass in political undermining, Biden’s disclosure about his private line to DeSantis raises the question: Is he subtly positioning Harris for failure, or is he just trying to look like the cool dad with everyone but his own political heir?
Remember when the Democratic Party was trying to portray a united front behind Harris’s historic bid? Yeah, neither do we.
From the start, the Biden-Harris duo has been as smooth as sandpaper, with Biden often seeming like he’s less a mentor and more a speed bump in Harris’s path.
