Queens, NYC - This week Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) hosted a town hall for her constituents from her Congressional District. The event was also attended by protesters, who crowded the building and chanted, “AOC has got to go!” as the Congresswoman tried to regain control of the room.
Putting on her best Jenny-from-the-block impression, Ocasio-Cortez responded, “Alright listen, listen, ok? Listeeeeen.” The crowd of protesters persisted in challenging Rep. Cortez’s support of costly military aid packages to support the war in Ukraine. “Why are you still sending money to Ukraine when we’re in a recession here?” said one protester.
Instead of answering the valid question, AOC decided that dancing was the best response while the crowd continued to voice their support for her opponent, Tina Forte. Any further disturbances from the crowd could have resulted in AOC stomping her feet, crossing her arms, and refusing to leave the building until the crowd apologized.
