At the moment there are more Republicans than Democrats in the Texas House, but it doesn’t always feel that way. Many Texans say it feels as though Democrats are running the House and thus, the state of Texas. For example, the most aggressive Attorney General in the United States was recently impeached by his fellow Republicans in the Texas House. How could this be happening if Republicans were truly in control? The question is: do the Democrats control Texas?
The short answer is yes, but the reality is much more complicated. The truth is, the Texas House, like much of the United States, is run by the uni-party. Sadly, only a small handful of Republicans are genuinely committed to fighting for the people, and unfortunately, their efforts often fall short. These fiery newcomers arrive, with their flames ablaze, ready to make change, only to find that the Texas Swamp doesn’t allow outsiders. They either conform to the established rules, or they are choked out. The situation in Texas is a perfect example of the deep-rooted rot within our government.
The start of this issue goes back to around 2008 when a group of 12 RINO Republicans rebuked the conservative movement they were supposed to believe in. They collaborated with Dems, leading to a disappointing history of Texas failing to achieve its true conservative potential.
