Washington, DC - After being criticized for not responding to the ongoing chemical disaster unfolding in East Palestine, Ohio, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg hit back at the media by reminding them that he’s “extremely diverse” on Tuesday.
Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, the Secretary of Transportation was adamant that he had responded well to the crisis, telling Joe Scarborough that, “you have to remember Joe, I’m the most diverse person to ever run the Department of Transportation.”
The hosts of the MSNBC morning show seemed remorseful for lobbing criticisms towards the Secretary in the previous weeks. “We know this, and we’re sorry,” said Minka Brzezinski as she patted Buttigieg on the shoulder. “You’ve been very brave, and you faced this crisis head-on by ignoring it for more than a week before making a public statement.”
The Secretary of Transportation looked to be on the edge of tears when he said, “It’s just so hard being so diverse… everyone supports you without any of it being warranted…” At publishing time Minka and Joe appeared to be brainstorming to see how the Ohio train derailment could be blamed on Donald Trump.
