Maricopa County, AZ - Instead of counting ballots into the night on Tuesday, Maricopa County election officials were busy trying to get a new camouflage for their favorite weapon in the online multiplayer game, Modern Warfare 2. Holding a controller in one hand and stuffing cheetos into his mouth with another, one election official said through bites of cheetos that, “Look, I just can’t get to counting ballots right now, Gosh!”
“Jeez just get off my back about it, they just released a new map pack and my friends are online,” another election official was quoted as saying. Maricopa County is a key area for the contentious Arizona Governor’s race, where Republican Kari Lake is on the doorstep to victory.
“You sound just like my mom, ‘take out the trash, clean up your room, count the ballots to ensure a free and fair election’”, said the same election worker. “GOSH! You just made me lose, I’m going over to Jake’s house, his mom lets us do whatever we want.” The ballot count is expected to stretch into next week.
