A new poll has suggested that only Donald Trump can win back the White House for the Republicans against Joe Biden next year despite the current President's huge unpopularity.
The findings in the Washington DC-based Democracy Institute's poll of 1,500 likely voters was damning about President Biden but found that almost every Republican candidate fell short in being able to replace him.
According to the survey 56 percent disapprove of Biden's record as President, 67 percent think he is too old to be the leader of the free world, 74 percent think he has the USA going in the wrong direction, and 59 percent believe his administration is incompetent.
After the charges against his son Hunter and allegations of an attempted cover up to protect him, 56 percent told the pollsters for the Democracy Institute that they believe Biden is corrupt.
But despite these findings, only Trump, who himself is facing legal threats against him, among all the potential possible Republican candidates can beat him.
According to the findings, Trump would comfortably beat Biden by 49 percent to 45 percent, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would lose to Biden by 47 percent to 43 percent.
In fact, any generic GOP candidate against Biden except Trump would lose 48 percent to 45 percent.
