The Biden-Harris regime’s full spectrum assault on the American economy is as multifaceted as it is relentless. There is, of course, the crippling inflation, the boundless corruption, the botched and ill-advised Covid stimulus (with scams coming to light even now), and of course the wide-open borders, just to name a few Biden-era travesties. Often lost in this bountiful conversation of the Biden-Harris economic calamity is the assault against the great American auto industry, oil and gas, and American energy generally.
Perhaps no single policy better represents the corruption and incompetence of the Biden-Harris energy policy than the industry’s insistence on so-called electric vehicle mandates. As though American auto companies weren’t suffering enough under Biden-Harris policies, the EV mandates impose unreasonable restrictions on American auto companies that in effect force these companies to produce electric vehicles for which there is little consumer demand. The average EV is over $15,000 more expensive than its gas counterpart and almost 50% more expensive to repair. Another issue is that the nation lacks the infrastructure to support the demands of the EV mandate—indeed, even the regime press has had to acknowledge the astonishing fact that Biden-Harris managed to produce only 7 EV charging stations with over 7 billion dollars and two years to spend it. Imagine ravaging the taxpayer with inflation, forcing the taxpayer to purchase electric vehicles he doesn’t want, taking over 7 billion dollars of taxpayer money, and not even building the appropriate infrastructure needed to sustain the electric vehicles the taxpayer doesn’t want in the first place. That’s the Biden-Harris economy in a nutshell.
While the EV mandates have wreaked havoc on the economy generally, much of the pain is of course concentrated in the American auto industry and in states like Michigan, where this auto industry has historically thrived. Ford’s decision to pause production of its F-150 lightning pickup is only one of many examples of American auto companies struggling to meet the burden of Biden-Harris EV mandates.
The anti-EV campaign seems to be working, especially in the election critical state of Michigan. As even Politico notes: “Republicans are on the attack over electric vehicles, and Democrats are having a hard time finding their footing.”
The Trump campaign is releasing similar ads, throwing the New York Times into an absolute fit, saying, “Kamala Harris supports EV mandates, killing Michigan jobs. She wants to end all gas-powered cars. Crazy but true. Harris’s push requiring electric only is failing big, and Michigan autoworkers are paying the price. Massive layoffs have already started. She could tank Michigan’s whole economy.”
The mainstream media response to the effectiveness of these pro-auto and anti-EV mandate ads says everything you need to know. One of the hallmark features of Trump’s ground-breaking candidacy in 2016 was his love for the men and women who built the backbone of America, and the auto industry was always considered critical to any genuine American revival. Hopefully the voters of Michigan, the rustbelt, and America generally send a clear message that the American taxpayer is tired of getting fleeced, and the American autoworkers are ready to reclaim the great destiny that Biden-Kamala have attempted to rob for the sake of useless regulation that does nothing positive for our environment.
Let the engines of America roar once again come January.
