NEW YORK, NY — Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk warned that New York City could soon experience a “catastrophic decline in living standards,” after mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani unveiled a plan to replace the city’s economic system with a TED Talk.
Musk, speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience, described Mamdani as “a charismatic swindler,” adding that his platform would “generate a lot of enthusiasm—just not electricity.” Rogan nodded solemnly, then asked if Musk would consider buying New York and turning it into a private Mars colony “just to start fresh.”
Mamdani’s campaign platform includes a $30 minimum wage, corporate tax hikes, and free public transportation—policies experts say would create a “100% employment satisfaction rate” once all jobs vanish.
According to campaign staff, Mamdani’s next proposal is a universal childcare program “funded by taxing billionaires who leave the city.”
At publishing time, Mamdani had announced a new plan to eliminate rent by abolishing apartments altogether.
