Los Angeles, CA - Speaking before a packed house of protesters, liberal city council member Nury Martinez struggled to be heard as she profusely apologized for her derogatory comments regarding a black person. “Listen, we already told you, we’re as woke as they come,” said Martinez as she defended herself after referring to a fellow city council member’s child as a “monkey” earlier this week.
“I mean, look at this Ally lapel pin I have. The pride flag is my phone wallpaper,” Martinez shouted above the crowd of protesters. “I voted for Biden, I support Ukraine, I’ve never stood for the national anthem in my life,” continued Nury. Despite her obvious wokeness, protesters were still demanding that Martinez resign from the LA City Council.
“We don’t care how much money you’ve given to George Soros, you need to resign,” several protesters yelled at the disgraced city council member. Wokelish will continue to monitor the situation, but at the moment it appears that she didn’t have enough diversity points to be openly racist without suffering consequences.
